If you work with crystalline silica substances and products, the new year is the perfect time to review your work systems and make sure you're complying with your legal obligations.

It’s important to check:
  • Have you reviewed your silica risk control plans?
  • Have you registered any workers undertaking high risk silica processing on the Silica Worker Register?
  • Have all workers involved in crystalline silica processing work completed a silica training course?
  • Have you checked if it’s time for fit testing for respiratory protective equipment?
  • Have you booked health monitoring for any workers who require screening?
Working with crystalline silica can be hazardous, but there are easy steps you can take to protect the health of your workers.

Visit the SafeWork NSW website for more information on how to comply with your obligations when working with crystalline silica.
